Gary Wiren is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Sports as a Golfing professional and educator.
Gary Wiren has more than 45 years of experience in his field. He is the founder of Golf Around the World since 1982. His business is to educate, motivate, and entertain people using golf as the primary vehicle. By sourcing and organizing materials and equipment that might be needed, Mr. Wiren can present at clinics, exhibitions, seminars, tours, speeches, individual instruction, writing, performing, and even using audio or video communication. He then helps develop marketing programs to let the world know of the services that may help them, be it a business, an association, a school, a community, a club or some other entity.
Mr. Wiren has been a supporter of fitness training for golf for over 30 years, lecturing and writing on the subject around the world. As a speaker/performer, one highlight of his career thus far was being selected to be the keynote speaker at the First World Scientific Congress on Golf at St. Andrews University in Scotland. As an inter-scholastic and inter-collegiate debater for eight years, communicating with a group of people has always been easy. Mr. Wiren has produced not only books and articles on golf but also videos, and audio-tapes, which include fitness, values, and motivation.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Golf, Mr. Wiren has received several awards. The Herb Graffis Award, together with Arnold Palmer, for contributions to the game of golf, as well as the Joe Graffis Award for educational leadership in golf each from the National Golf Foundation.
He was also granted the“Wind Under Wings” and Rolex Ellen Griffin awards by The Ladies Professional Golf Association, which is an American organization for female professional golfers. In 1987, Wiren was selected by the PGA of America as its “Teacher of the Year” in the USA and has consistently been picked by Golf Magazine as one of America’s 100 Best Teachers and in Golf Digest in the Top 50. Gary Wiren currently holds titles in six Golf Halls of Fame, including the PGA Hall of Fame and the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame, and holds honorary memberships and distinguished-service recognition from Sweden, Italy, New Zealand, and Japan
Mr. Wiren believes “Golf is a game and as such is meant to be enjoyed”. He even enjoys it in his free time as his most noted hobby for some 45 years collecting golf memorabilia, ephemera, and equipment, now regarded as one of America’s most interesting golf museums in his home. It has been visited by some notables including Bill Gates and Warren Buffett (together), Jack Welch, Gary Player, Byron Nelson, etc.
Beyond golf, awards in football, a Little-All American Quarterback and later coaching at the University of Michigan, as well as coaching two Pop Warner football teams to the National Championships.
When not traveling, and sharing his knowledge through Golf, Gary Wiren enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Ione Tracy, Children Tracy Lynn, Paige Christenson, Bryn Leigh, and Dane Maitland.
