Before embarking into the field of public administration, Ms. Bradford studied at the University of Maryland for her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics and later received a Masters of Public Administration in Information Science from American University. An active member of the American Library Association and the Association of Computing Machinery, Ms. Bradford is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences and has shared her knowledge, having co-authored information Retrieval On-Line, one of the first books based on computer information systems.
