Remaining abreast of the latest developments, Mr. Owens is a member of the Pitt County Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, American Bar Association, North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, North Carolina State Bar, and Third Judicial District Bar Association. In 2002, he was admitted into the North Carolina Bar Association Practice Hall of Fame. Serving on the Pitt County Board of Commissioners, he is a previous chairman for the Pitt County Board of Education and the All State School Board. He is active in philanthropic work, involving himself with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
