Guylund Y. Mapes, ADN, MSN, BSN, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of education for her role as a Nurse Educator at Kaiser Permanente, Clark College and Pioneer Pacific.

Throughout her illustrious career in healthcare, Ms. Mapes has accrued over 31 years of experience as a nurse. She is dedicated to sharing her nursing expertise and educating others. In addition to being a nurse and educator, she is currently serving as an addiction specialist. Her advice to those starting in her field is to “go for it” and to “keep in mind that nursing school is very hard.” Her key to success is “nursing education, addiction nursing, and hospital nursing.”

Throughout her education and training, Ms. Mapes completed her undergraduate degree, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ashland University in 1972. Years later, she graduated with Highest Honors from Oregon Health and Science University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Following this, she continued higher education, earning a Master of Science in Nursing from Washington State University, and an associate’s degree in nursing from Mt. Hood Community College.

In recognition of her professional achievements, Ms. Mapes was awarded the American Cancer Society Student Nurse Fellowship in 1988. She was also selected to become a member of the International Nurses Association in February 2019.

In her free time, Ms. Mapes enjoys golfing.

Guylund dedicates this recognition to “my partner of 35 years Marjorie Budworth RN - for her love, support, and inspiration.”
