Continental Who’s Who is recognizing Julie Collins as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of business as the Founder/Owner of Sassy-Senses.
The inspiration and origin of Sassy Senses came to Mrs. Collins long before its start. When her son, Christian, was three years old he was diagnosed with Level II Autism and a significant speech delay. In 2012, Mrs. Collins began to develop the idea further pooling together resources to begin her business selling weighted blankets, lap pads and shoulder wraps. Weighted blankets became a staple in her home long before her son received his diagnosis and it really helped with his sleeping patterns. After seeing how tremendously helped her son, Mrs. Collins went on to launch her business in the fall of 2015.
All of the designs for the blankets are inspired by Christian. With all the different textures and fun colorful patterns, there is a wide array of weighted blankets for everyone to choose from. Weighted blankets offer comfort and help improve sleep, stress and anxiety. By applying gentle pressure to the muscles, the body relaxes and sends a message through the nervous system to the brain.
Serotonin and melatonin are released. Any unused serotonin converts to melatonin, providing day and nighttime benefits.
Julie would like to dedicate this recognition to her husband Jason, current VP of Global Operations – Zurich Insurance, and to their children Payton, Christian, and Layla.
