Early in her career, Skiba attained her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from DePaul University in 1996.

Charitable to various organizations, Skiba is an esteemed member of NAPE and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, Skiba is involved with and supports children organizations and child welfare programs.

When she is not working, Skiba enjoys spending quality time with her family, children, and traveling.
