Jean Boozy is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Utilities and Human Resources as a result of her role as Senior Human Resources Consultant with the Orlando Utilities Commission. The Orlando Utilities Commission serves as a community backbone, serving residential and commercial customers with dependable, low-cost electric and water services.
In order to keep up with the city’s growth, OUC has built and expanded four power plants and eight water plants over the years, all financed with bonds covered by its own revenues. At the same time, OUC has consistently maintained double-A bond ratings, among the best given by analysts. OUC is a municipal utility owned by the citizens of Orlando. It provides electricity and water services to customers in Orlando, St. Cloud, and parts of Orange and Osceola counties. Jean has over twenty years of successful experience in human resources. In her current position, Jean works hard to provide water and electric services to the city of Orlando, and specializes in staffing, recruiting, hiring, supervising, marketing, advertising, business development, payroll and more. She is affiliated with the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM); American Cancer Society; Toastmasters International (TM); Florida Association of Professionals in Human Resources (FPHRA); and the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW). Additionally, Jean acts as the Team Captain for Juvenile Diabetes, and is also a participant in fundraising for the American Heart Association, as well as volunteering for Supervisor of Elections office, and also conducts mock interviews for students at the University of Central Florida and Central Florida Employment Council as a resume coach. In her spare time, Jean enjoys interior decorating, gardening, dancing, watching movies, public speaking, and community volunteering.
Due to her professional successes, she has been the recipient of multiple honors and awards throughout her career. Jean was honored first secretary of the club and an award for Best Evaluator in Humorous Speaker Contest with the OUC Toastmasters, along with numerous Table Topic Speaker certifications. Furthermore, Jean was awarded the “Silver Snoopy” (highest award to be received) for outstanding launch support of the Shuttle from NASA. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Rollins College at Winter Park, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
