Andre P. Steynberg is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a result of his role as Technical Advisor of Intellectual Property with Sasol Technology. Sasol Technology is an international integrated energy and chemical company that leverages the talent and expertise of our more than 34 000 people working in 38 countries. They develop and commercialize technologies, and help build and operate world-scale facilities to produce a range of high-value product streams, including liquid fuels, chemicals and low-carbon electricity.
With over 30 years of experience at Sasol, Andre specializes in synthetic fuels, licensing, overseeing design information for projects, strategic planning, process development, gas-to-liquids technology, technology management, fluid bed reactor design, and more. He holds 21 European patents and is a member of the South African Institution of Chemical Engineers. Andre is dedicated to developing God-given talents and using them to make a positive difference. One of the most rewarding achievements throughout his career has been the provision of the key process technology elements for the ORYX GTL plant in Qatar. In addition, Andre is a two-time recipient of the SAIChE Gold Medal Award for Chemical Engineering Achievement, and in his spare time, enjoys swimming and vacationing at the Mabula Game Lodge. He belongs to a Masters Swimming Club, where he unwinds at a game reserve once a year to rekindle his appreciation for nature.
Furthermore, Andre says the secret to his success is the tenacity in working towards agreed goals, the continuous search for the fundamental understanding of processes and their constraints, his passion for technological development, visualization, and prayer. Andre has earned a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Natale, a BCom degree in Commerce, and an LL.B degree from the University of South Africa. He is currently completing a Doctorate program at the University of Cape Town.
