Janet L. Williams

Janet L. Williams is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Environmental Research as a result of her role as an Environmental Research Technician with DuPage County.

With over 37 years of professional experience, Janet  specializes in transferring old hand-drawn maps into current geographic information systems and computer storage. In addition, she is responsible for handling the public works department's historical information and land assessments and acquisitions, as well as creating maps in accordance with geographic information systems parameters. With DuPage County, Janet also works to manage title work and contracts and coordinate all special service data and maps.

In addition to her environmental research contributions, Janet is an integral part of her community. She gained  access to the local Park District-Churchill Park and has since developed it into an educational park where the Girl Scouts can earn badges, school classes can get hands-on environmental training and families can spend time enjoying nature. She also got Churchill Park dedicated as an Educational Park and is in the process of gathering the funds to construct a building and stock it with computers, microscopes and other tools for youth group education. Janet earned Associate Degrees in Architecture, Computer Science, and Geographic Information Systems from the College of DuPage. She received certification in numerous areas including, certification from the Homeland Security Community Emergency Response Team; certification in Legal Issues and Practical Considerations from Lorman; certification in Law of Easements; certification in the Principles of Real Estate Acquisitions from the International Right of Way Association; certifications in First Aid and CPR; certification in Geographic Information Systems from Elmhurst College; as well as credentials as a certified Water Safety instructor through the American Red Cross.
