Susan Marie D. Stanton is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional as a result of her role as Social Worker with the Mount Vernon School District. Susan Marie has been working at two elementary schools within the district since 1991. She helps children by means of individual and group counseling sessions and bullying awareness. She also works with the students on how to improve their social skills, and is a part of the positive behavior intervention team as well. Not only is Susan Marielicensed and certified in Social Work, she is also certified in Rape Crisis Intervention and in Family Therapy. Additionally, Susan Marie helps students set goals for themselves with customized and individualized education plans, meets with parents to discuss the student’s progress, and conducts social history background reports.
She is a member of the School Social Workers Association, Mount Vernon Federation of Teachers, National Association of Social Workers, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and is the Founder and Past Director of The Housing Options Program. Outside of work, Susan Marie enjoys swimming, dancing, bowling, and baseball. Throughout the course of her education, she earned a BSW from Stony Brook University, an MSW from Adelphi University, and also holds a Master's Degree in Education from the College of Rochelle.
