Rosemarie Fonti is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Legacy Member as a result of 40 Years of Excellence in the field of Nursing. Rosemarie is a Nursing Assistant with the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System.
In her youth, Rosemarie’s mother worked in the food service industry and her father worked at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital in the housekeeping department. With constant love and support from her parents, Rosemarie graduated from high school and decided to attend cosmetology school at the Wayne School of Beauty. She went on to utilize her cosmetology skills in a professional setting for several years before she felt a calling to enter the field of Nursing. Currently, Rosemarie has forty-four years of nursing experience under her belt and fondly remembers her past experiences in the field. During her vast career, Rosemarie has worked the night shift in the nursing care unit and was responsible for checking and recording vital signs, taking care of patients, and feeding patients who cannot feed themselves. Prior to her position with VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, Rosemarie worked at Westledge Nursing Home in Peeksill, NY. In addition to her professional nursing endeavors, Rosemarie has also taken care of her mother, as well as her brother, who has been an amputee for the past six and a half years. She enjoys caring for her brother as well as her friends who she takes shopping, out to lunch and dinner, as well as to doctor appointments.
Furthermore, Rosemarie is extremely involved with her community. She serves as an usher and is a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck, NY as well as President of the Mt. Carmel Ladies Auxiliary.
She is also a member of the 300 Club and the Verplanck Seniors Club. Rosemarie attended SUNY New Paltz and Mercy College - Dobbs Ferry Campus. Looking ahead, Rosemarie looks to care for others seven in her retirement. In addition, she plans to spend more time enjoying her hobbies including, knitting, crocheting, reading, and watching movies.
