Claudia L. McGinnis-Jefferson

Claudia L. McGinnis-Jefferson is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Media Relations and Marketing in recognition of her role as Founder of One Semester Try.

Located in Stockbridge, Georgia, One Semester Try is an education mentorship program. The organization seeks out in obtaining funding for Juveniles within the Atlanta Juvenile Justice Department.

Founder of One Semester Try, Claudia L. McGinnis-Jefferson is a retired United States Army (Disabled) Veteran. Throughout her career, McGinnis-Jefferson has attained extensive experience within the areas of media relations and marketing. A firm believer that every child deserves a chance, she works in assisting kids get into college regardless of their high school academic standing. McGinnis-Jefferson hopes to “eliminate the generational curse of education and illiteracy, one child at a time.”

Throughout the course of her education and training, McGinnisJefferson attended the United States Department of Defense Information School where she attained her Master’s degree as a Joint Intermediate Public Affairs Officer. In her previous years, McGinnis-Jefferson attended the United States Army Command General Staff College where she attained a second Master’s degree specialized in Full-spectrum Joint, Interagency, and Multinational Operations.

To further her professional development, McGinnis-Jefferson is an affiliate of several organizations including the National Association of Professional Women and serves as Public Relations Manager for The Big Hart Foundation.

Founded in 2016, The Big Hart Foundation was founded by Edgerton Hartwell II in hopes of “demonstrating to our youth that hopes and dreams can be a reality.” Comprised of a dedicated band of professionals, the team at The Big Hart foundation believes in investing their time into young adolescents in hopes of instilling, “social, ethical, and intellectual growth.”

Charitable to various organizations, McGinnis-Jefferson is an active high school volunteer mentor. In her current capacity, she researches ways to attain funds needed by high school students for college.

When she is not working, McGinnis-Jefferson enjoys reading, current events, helping children, and her service dogs.

McGinnis-Jefferson dedicates this recognition to her Dad, Thomas William McGinnis Sr.
