Amassing over forty years of experience in the field of law, Mr. Cole is a prominent attorney in the legal industry. Throughout his career, Mr. Cole has attained extensive experience in the areas of medical malpractice, professional liability, complex construction matters, amusement claims, commercial litigation, transportation negligence, and general liability defense. Additionally, in his current capacity, Mr. Cole has tried more than 80 cases to verdict involving multi-million dollar exposures.

Mr. Cole attained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and his Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

To further his professional development, Mr. Cole is an affiliate of several organizations including the firm’s Medical Malpractice Department, the Illinois Bar, the ISBA, the Society of Trial Lawyers, the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel of which he has been a member for more than 35 years, DRI of which he has been a member for more than 30 years, and the International Association of Defense Counsel of which he has been a member for more than 25 years. He was previously a member of the International Committee of Mackrell International, a network of independent law firms on a global basis.

A renowned speaker and published scholar, Mr. Cole has authored several articles including “Walking the Line in Damages Arguments in Child Cases,” and “Fear of Future Harm: Stating a Claim for Damages” (5 IDC Quarterly, 1995). Additionally, he has given speeches and professional talks before the DRI, numerous State Defense organizations, and the IADC. He also served as a faculty member, director-elect, and director of the prestigious IADC Trial Academy at Stanford University School of law

In recognition of his professional accolades, Mr. Cole has been named by Illinois Super Lawyers, Law & Politics, since 2005 and been named a Leading Lawyer by Leading Lawyers Network, Law Bulletin Publishing Company for the past thirteen years.

When he is not working, Mr. Cole enjoys family, hiking and skiing. Married to his wife, Deborah Cole, Esq., Mr. Cole dedicates this recognition to William Sampson and in memoriam of Lionel Hatch.
