Dorothy J. Jones

Dorothy J. Jones is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Government field in recognition of her role as Contract Specialist at the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

A federal agency, the United States Army Corps mission is to “deliver vital public and military engineering services; partnering in peace and war to strengthen our Nation’s security, energize the economy and reduce risks from disasters.” Dedicated to national security and the wellbeing of all civilians, the agency strives to “engineer solutions” for some of the arduous challenges.

Commended for her outstanding service in the United States Army, Jones has held several prestigious positions as a Supply Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Logistician, Equal Opportunity Officer, and Contracting Officer. In her current capacity, Jones is responsible for pre-award and post-award of requested contract actions for the government, purchasing supplies, services, and construction actions

Throughout the course of her education and training, Jones attained her Bachelors of Science degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Administration Management & Sociology from Excelsior College in Albany, New York. In her previous years, Jones earned her Associates degree in General Studies from Central Texas College. Jones also attended the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) in Florida for Equal Opportunity Position.

To further her professional development, Jones is an affiliate of several organizations including the National Association of Professional Women.

In recognition of her professional accolades, Jones gained recognition after 10 years of civilian services with the United States government. Jones was the recipient of 2 Meritorious Service Medal Awards; 7 Army Commendation Medal Awards; 6 Good Conduct Medal Awards; and 6 Certificate of Achievement Awards.

Charitable to various organizations, Jones is actively involved in assisting the elderly and young people in any capacity needed.

When she is not working, Jones enjoys going to the movies, concerts, plays and bowling.

Married to her husband Roy for over 30 years, Jones has 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Jones dedicates this recognition in loving memory to Annie B. Green, her father, Columbus Green, and her great granddaughter, Amara Stewart.
