Laurence A. Bradley is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Education as a result of his role as a Psychologist and Professor at the University of Alabama. The Division of Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology at the University of Alabama is considered to be one of the leading Rheumatology programs in the country. Recognized by the News and World Report for 19 consecutive years, the division emerged in 1950. Renowned for its patient care, research, and teaching, the division has had over 67 extensive years of experience in the research community. The division hopes to one day find a cure or aide in the suppressant prevention of the disease in the future. Currently serving as Psychologist and Professor of Medicine of the Division of Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology at the University of Alabama, Dr. Bradley has culminated over forty years of experience within the field. Throughout the years, Dr. Bradley’s strong research program focuses on the relations among “biological and psychosocial factors associated with abnormal pain sensitivity in persons with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee, and other chronic painful disorders.” An expert in Neurobehavioral Medicine Research and Psychological Disturbances associated with pain, Dr. Bradley has conducted several medical research studies examining the sociocultural variables associated with pain sensitivity. When asked his advice to newcomers within the field, Dr. Bradley states that it is important to, “Show what you are talking about when talking about medicine and learn basic science.” Throughout the course of his education, Dr. Bradley attained his Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from Vanderbilt University, in 1971. Later, he then went onto further his career and earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology at Vanderbilt University in 1975. It was there after he attended Duke University Medical Center where he completed his Clinical Internship in 1976. Certified in Clinical Psychology by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology, Dr. Bradley is the author of several published works. With over 143 papers, 55 chapters, and three books, Dr. Bradley has executed his scholarly research through a variety of ways. Among his accomplishments, Dr. Bradley achieved multidisciplinary chairmanships in both Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology and as Professor and Director of Neurobehavioral Medicine Researcher at the University of Alabama. When he is not working, Dr. Bradley enjoys rooting for his team the Cleveland Indians and watching Vanderbilt Football. Dr. Bradley Dedicates this recognition to Robert Turner and Joel Richter.
