Timothy Blaylock

Timothy Blaylock is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Public Transportation. Blaylock currently works as a Rail Safety Inspector for the Nevada Department of Transportation. As per their website, “The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (“PUCN“) is a regulatory agency that ensures investor-owned utilities comply with laws enacted by the Nevada Legislature,” and adds, “The PUCN regulates approximately 400 investor-owned utilities in Nevada, but does not rate-regulate municipal-owned utilities.” The site goes on to say that, “The PUCN maintains a Rail Safety Program as part of Nevada’s State Participation Program with the United States Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration (“FRA”). The agreement provides that the PUCN shall employ FRA certified inspectors in one or more of five inspection disciplines: track, operating practices, motive power and equipment, signal and train control (PUCN does not have a signal and train control inspector), and hazardous materials.” Although he is new to his current position as Track Inspector, Blaylock amasses over twenty years of experience, and his areas of professional expertise include physical track inspection for loose components, switches, gauges, and drainage in Eastern Oregon. Prior to working at Nevada’s Public Utilities Commission, Blaylock served as the former secretary for the Willamette County Corvette Association, where he is still a member. He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, and held several roles with the Union Pacific Railroad, where he became a track inspector. Additionally, he worked for the Oregon Department of Public Transportation (ODOT) for thirteen years as the Rail Compliance Specialist (Track Inspector). Blaylock is a graduate of the ODOT Transportation Leadership Academy. Outside of work, he volunteers his time fundraising for organizations and groups that support military families. He dedicates this recognition in loving memory of his uncle, John Barnett. For more information, you can visit: puc.nv.gov/Safety/Rail.
