Kathy Dempsey is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Professional in the field of Personal Coaching as a result of her role as Owner and President of her own private coaching firm, Kathy Dempsey Coaching. According to her website, Dempsey claims that after retirement from her career in Finance, “I discovered life coaching, and started inspiring, encouraging, and guiding people to become their best selves and lead their best lives…I realized that there was a profession that could actually make me happy beyond the corporate world – and for the first time in my life I felt genuinely happy and fulfilled in my career. Now, I have the privilege of helping other people to have this experience for themselves, so they can have a life of passion, peace of mind and truly enjoy their lives.” Dempsey’s role as the President and Head Personal Coach of her own organization requires her to take on a myriad of responsibilities. She oversees operations for the entire company, as well as doing one-on-one work with clients as a Personal Coach. Since starting in the coaching business, Dempsey has developed a focus on helping executives, CEOs, and other senior level employees find their life purpose. Her coaching firm specializes in this, as well as conflict resolution, leadership, and public speaking. The firm is based in Virginia. Prior to becoming a coach, Dempsey was a Chief Financial Officer for over 25 years and spent her career working for various large professional associations and firms, including Tatum LLC, NAACP, and MedStar Research Institute. Dempsey is a Certified Professional Executive Coach, and Life Coach, and a Master Practitioner in Energy Leadership Index through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), as well as being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In order to further her professional development, Dempsey maintains professional memberships and affiliations with various associations. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, AJDF, the International Coaches Federation, the National Association of Professional Women, and the American Society of Association Executives. Throughout the course of her educational career, Dempsey received her MBA in Finance from George Washington University in 1975 before going on to earn her BS in Accounting from University of Maryland College Park in 1985. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, scuba diving, and spending time with her friends. She dedicates this recognition in loving memory of her father, Thomas Hanley; and to her husband, Robert Dempsey.
