Dr. Rita Richardson, PhD

Dr. Rita Richardson is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Higher Education. Her professional title is Associate Professor at the University of Houston-Victoria. With locations in Victoria, Katy and Sugar Land, Texas, the University of Houston-Victoria offers an array of online, undergraduate, graduate, transfer and international students across several disciplines. The author of Discipline Options and the Connecting with Others: Lessons for Teaching Social and Emotional Competence series, Dr. Richardson has been in the education field for over 30 years. At the University of Houston-Victoria since 2012, she utilizes her incomparable knowledge in curriculum development, education administration and management, public speaking and program management on a daily basis. With expertise in both educational leadership and special education, Dr. Richardson has taught at several universities over the course of her career. Recognized as a 2015 Top Female Professional by Worldwide Branding, she was inducted into the Elite American Educators circle in 2011. A testament to her success, Dr. Richardson created the “Richardson Inventory of Personality Types” which has been likened to the famous Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

To keep abreast of the latest in the industry, Dr. Richardson maintains affiliations with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Council for Exceptional Children, Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Delta Kappa International. Dr. Richardson earned her Ph.D. in Education Administration from the University of New Orleans following receipt of her Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Houston.
