May-Leng Yau Patterson is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as Prominent Professional Woman of The Year in the
Automotive industry. 2015 May-Leng is the Head of World Class Manufacturing Mexico Operations for FCA US LLC, formerly Chrysler Group LLC.
In this position, May-Leng is leading and coaching plant managers and leadership teams in the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM), a methodology that focuses on reducing waste, increasing productivity and improving quality and safety in a systematic and organized way. WCM engages the workforce to provide and implement suggestions on how to improve their jobs and their plants. She is responsible for the development and engagement of people in the application of the WCM technical methods and tools to achieve operational excellence. WCM has been credited as one of the key strategies in the continued success of the FCA US. As a certified WCM Auditor, May Leng’s additional responsibilities include performing WCM audits across the regions to ensure that the methodology and tools are correctly applied and implemented in the manufacturing operations to achieve business results.
As Director of the World Class Logistics Center of Competence, May-Leng led the development of lean supply chain solutions, which included the design and implementation of innovative parts handling and logistics methods to reduce internal plant material handling costs and external supply chain costs. This encompassed the entire Supply Chain, from receiving inbound parts from suppliers to delivery to the production line to shipments of outbound finished engines, transmissions, vehicles and service parts; development of best practices and providing coaching direction for operational implementation across the Company’s stamping, engine, transmission, vehicle assembly plants and MOPAR service parts distribution centers located in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. May-Leng specializes in Lean Manufacturing; Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management; Strategy Development, Purchasing, Material Handling Techniques, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, World Class Logistics Standards and Methodology.
As a result of her dedication and expertise within the field of lean manufacturing and logistics, May-Leng has been honored as a Delegate Featured Leader by International Women’s Leadership Association in 2013 and 2015, as well as being named as one of 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News. This year, May-Leng is being honored as part of 2015 Women of Achievement and will be featured in the Women of Color magazine. Previously, she was also recognized as 2010 Professional of the Year and a 2011 Top 101 Industry Expert in the Automobile Manufacturing Industry by Cambridge Who's Who. Furthermore, she was awarded the title of Empire Who's Who Professional of the Year representing the automobile industry from 2006-2007. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, running and spending time with her family.
