Dr. C. Yong Kang, Ph.D., DSc, FRSC, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Higher Education as a result of his role as a Professor of Virology at the University of Western Ontario. Founded in 1878, the University of Western Ontario offers over 400 majors and minors to the student body of 36,000-plus students. With students from over 100 countries, the university provides a variety of international study-abroad, research and volunteer opportunities. Amassing several decades of experience in Medicine, Dr. Kang’s areas of expertise consist of virology, vaccine development (HIV-AIDS; Hepatitis C), viral oncology, higher education instruction, and more.
Dr. Kang teaches Microbiology and Immunology, and has printed over 100 journal articles and science related publications throughout the course of his career. Moreover, Dr. Kang is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Canada Academy of Science, and has received several industry related honors and awards. In addition, he maintains affiliation with the American Society for Microbiology, American Society for Virology, American Association for the Advancement of Science, The Korean Society of Virology, The Association of Korean-Canadian Scientists and Engineers, Genetic Society of Canada, Canadian Society of Microbiologists, Korean Academy of Science and Technology and the Kinetic Society of Canada. Dr. Kang underwent his Post- Doctoral study in Viral Oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and received his Ph.D. in Virology from McMaster University in addition to his BS in Veterinary Medicine from Malling College (Denmark), and B.Sc with honors in Animal Science from Konkuk University in Korea.
