Maria- Elena Ochoa is recognized by ContinentalWho’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Healthcare as a result of her role as Chief of Medical Operations with Mountain Health and Wellness. Mountain Health and Wellness has been serving the needs of residents of Pinal County in Arizona for the past twenty five years, and has developed an innovative practice model that embodies their philosophy of whole person care while promoting wellness. This approach to health care addresses the whole person by integrating behavioral health with primary health care while promoting wellness and prevention. Also, where appropriate, patients may also be referred for wellness activities (e.g. smoking cessation, nutritional education, gardening, physical activities, etc.), as well as traditional psychotherapy, and psychiatric services.
In her current position, Maria- Elena works with clients to integrate behavioral health, primary care and wellness services. Additionally, she works to facilitate collaboration among state agencies and community-based organizations, as well as overseeing the division for women in the Governor's office for children, youth and families. Maria- Elena has over thirty five years of experience in the field of Healthcare, and is the President/ On Board of CAFA, the President of the Phoenix Chapter National Society of Hispanic MBA’s.
Furthermore, she is affiliated with Girl Scouts and the Latina Giving Circle. This passion and dedication to her career has earned Maria-Elena the Latina Excellence Award for Science and Medicine from Arizona State University in 2006. She attributes her success to her passion, work ethic, education, resilience, innovation and ability to establish strong and authentic relationships, and one day hopes to become the chief executive officer or executive director of an organization focused on underserved populations.
