James M. Gill AGACNP-BC, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Nurse Practitioner in the field of Medicine in acknowledgment for his dedication, commitment, and professional excellence caring for patients at St Mary’s Hospital.
Board-certified Nurse Practitioner Dr. Gill is highly trained and respected in his field having devoted the past two years providing compassionate care. He offers a vast repertoire of valuable experience and medical expertise in Pulmonology and critical care. Currently, he serves patients at St Mary’s Hospital specializing in critical care and is affiliated with two area hospitals, including John Randolph Medical Center and Southside Regional Medical Center. Alongside his current appointments, he is also highly in demand at the Pulmonary and Critical Care Association Tri-Cities and Sound Critical Care.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Gill flourished in varying positions starting on the floor as a telemetry nurse and moved on to ICU. With desires to further his professional career, he went to a level two trauma center and worked in the Medical-Surgical Trauma ICU and Cardiovascular ICU before returning to school for his NP degree.
To prepare for his acclaimed career, Dr. Gill completed his undergraduate studies after he earned his Associate’s degree from ECPI University in 2010, followed by his bachelor’s degree from Chamberlain University College of Nursing in 2014. He then went on to receive his Master’s degree in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care from Georgetown University in 2018. Furthering his training, Dr. Gill is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and he is also a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN). CCRN certification is a board certification granted by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Certification Corporation.
Remaining abreast of the latest developments in his field, Dr. Gill maintains active memberships and affiliations with the Virginia Nurses Association, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the American Nurses Association, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
As a testament to his success, Dr. Gill is the recipient of prestigious awards and accolades including Top Nurse Practitioner by the International Nurses Association and Nurse of the Year John Randolph. When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Gill enjoys photography, mountain biking, and motorcycling. Dr. Gill dedicates this recognition to Wide Darcy, Dawn Adams, and the faculty at Georgetown.
