Eric Tibesar, MD

Eric Tibesar, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Gastroenterology Medicine in acknowledgment for his dedication as a Pediatric Gastroenterologist with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.

Since opening its doors in 2003, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital has operated as a full-service pediatric care network to provide tertiary-level pediatric care in a setting that reflected and advanced the core values of St. Vincent. The Hospital is staffed by more than 100 highly experienced pediatric specialists along with experienced pediatric nurses, child life specialists, chaplains, and other health professionals with a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to family-focused care.

Board Certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist Dr. Tibesar has garnered 12 years of vast knowledge and professional experience in his field. With extensive training in pediatric gastroenterology, Dr. Tibesar has a special interest in esophageal reflux, food allergies, and nutrition.

For the past six years, he continuously thrives as an integral team member at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of pediatric care. Utilizing a compassionate approach, he treats acid reflux, abdominal pain and inflammatory diseases, food allergies, and all feeding and breathing issues in children.

An academic scholar, Dr. Tibesar completed his undergraduate career at the University of Iowa, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering. Soon thereafter, he went on to obtain his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine. Later, he completed a General pediatric residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and a Pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at John’s Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Tibesar is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics.

To stay up-to-date on the latest medical developments, Dr. Tibesar maintains an active member with several professional organizations including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is renowned as a respected voice in his field as a published author of multiple research articles in peer-reviewed journals and textbook chapters. Proud to share his breadth of expertise, he has also contributed oral presentations at a number of professional association meetings.
