Richard P. Cattey, MD, FACS is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Surgeon in the field of Medicine in acknowledgment for his devotion as a General Surgeon with Madison Medical Affiliates.
As an independent practice, Madison Medical Affiliates proudly serves the downtown Milwaukee community, as well as southeastern Wisconsin. Dedicated to providing the highest standard of patient-centered care, the medical practice has grown to include over 60 specialized physicians and 10 convenient clinic locations throughout metro Milwaukee. Madison Medical’s teams of board-certified surgeons specialize in a number of procedures, including general surgery, bariatric surgery, laparoscopic surgery, surgical oncology, breast surgery, sports hernia surgery, and colorectal surgery.
Board-Certified General Surgeon Dr. Cattey has garnered 30 years of vast knowledge and professional experience in practice with a special focus on general laparoscopic and vascular surgical services. He is highly recognized as an expert today in the diagnosis and the treatment of sports Hernias. In his current capacity, Dr. Cattey is an integral part of the surgery team at Madison Medical Affiliates where he devotes to providing comfort and care for his patients.
An academic scholar, Dr. Cattey completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. His acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1984. Soon thereafter, he went on to complete his residency in general surgery and his fellowship in surgical endoscopy at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. Later, he served as a surgical registrar for six months in Warwick England. He is Board Certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Surgery.
Remaining abreast of the latest advancements in his field, Dr. Cattey maintains active memberships and affiliations with professional organizations. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Milwaukee Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery. In light of his professional achievements, Dr. Cattey is the recipient of the Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2010, 2015, 2016, 2018) and Patient’s Choice Award, 2018.
