A 1990 graduate of the University of Health Sciences, The Chicago Medical School, Dr. Rizzo excelled academically. Previously, he completed his undergraduate studies at Wagner College in Staten Island, New York. Upon receiving his Medical Degree, he completed Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at New York University Medical Center. He then went on to complete his Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson Medical Center / Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. With a commitment to excellence, Dr. Rizzo became board-certified in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Rizzo flourished in varying positions during and after his medical training. During his training, he is proud to have served as assistant team physician for several professional teams including the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies, as well as numerous college and high school teams. He has also been a Master Instructor at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago, teaching other orthopaedic surgeons the most current techniques in arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery. Renowned as an expert in his field, Dr. Rizzo has written articles for publications on the topic of knee and shoulder instability and is currently involved in research and development of new surgical techniques.
