As a well-respected family medicine practice, the Institute of Foot & Ankle Reconstructive Surgery proudly serves its communities of Indiana with offices in Merrillville, East Chicago, and Munster, Indiana, as well as in Chicago, Illinois. Board-Certified Podiatrist, Dr. El-Samad has led a remarkable career, having accrued 12 years of expert medical knowledge and professional experience in his field. He has garnered a laudable reputation as a top podiatrist for his vast repertoire of expertise in all areas of podiatry, and more specifically diabetic limb salvage and external fixation. As one of several podiatrists in the Community Healthcare System, Dr. El-Samad also treats patients and consults at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, where he currently serves as the Director of Diabetic Limb Salvage. He is also affiliated with Community Hospital in Munster.

To prepare for his distinguished career, Dr. El-Samad earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the Barry University College of Graduate Medical Science – School of Podiatric Medicine in 2003. Soon thereafter, he went on to complete his internship and residency at the University of Utah Medical Center, followed by his fellowship in diabetic limb salvage at Lecco General Hospital in Italy. Following his formal training, he became board-certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. A Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Dr. El-Samad remains abreast of the latest innovations and developments in his field.
