Laurie K. Ballew, DO, Ed.D, DFAPA, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as a Psychiatrist and the Owner of Holistic Psychiatry and Health Care.

Located at 2520 New Holt Road, Holistic Psychiatry and Health Care is a leading mental health facility in McCracken County. Dr. Ballew focuses on her client’s cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual well being. She tailors each treatment plan for each client, offering services to clients ages 18 and up. Her areas of expertise include adult and geriatric psychiatry, addiction medicine, and cognitive behavior therapy.

Backed by 26 years of experience, Dr. Ballew is a patientpreferred holistic physiatrist in Kentucky. She has been offering her services at her current location for 1 year, providing individual psychotherapy and medication management when needed. A leader in her field, she works with clients to choose what treatment plan is best for them. She treats a variety of individuals, with or without medical or mental health conditions. She has extensive experience serving clients who have mood disorders, ADHD, addiction issues, and early to mid-stage dementia and / or Alzheimer’s.

Prior to her professional career, Dr. Ballew earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1994. Then, she trained as an intern in family practice at Broadlawns Medical Center in 1995. She went on to work as a resident in psychiatry at the University of Louisville Hospital in 1998. Remaining abreast of the latest developments, she serves as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the Kentucky Psychiatric Medical Association and the American Society for Addiction Medicine.

An active member of her community, Dr. Ballew donates to President Temple Israel in Paducah and serves as an Abrahamic Faith Council Member. She has been active in philanthropic work throughout her life, formerly volunteering with Pacucah Community Kitchen.

Dr. Ballew dedicates this recognition her partner, Joyce Sims, for her support, and in loving memory of her parents Ellis and Elsie Ballew.
