Triple Board Certified in Psychology, Neurology and Clinical Nero Psychology, Dr. Florence Shum, has been practicing in Neurology for 10 years, dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Disorders of the nervous system can affect the brain, spinal cord and nerves that may cause diseases like cerebrovascular disease, such as stroke, or Demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system, like multiple sclerosis, and Headache disorders.
Dr. Florence Shum works closely with her patients as a General Neurologist with a focus on neuromuscular, epilepsy, headache, Botox for medical reasons such as chronic migraines, cervical Dystonia, and facial spasticity.
Before becoming a Top Neurologist in her field, Dr. Shum earned her Undergrad degree with NYU. She became a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with NYIT in NY the College Osteopathic Medicine and completed an internship at Staten Island Hospital, and later invited for a residency and Fellowship at Suny downstate. A Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Shum is also a noted member of the Medical Society of NY where she previously served as the 209th president of Richmond County. With her dream to work for the Asian community, Dr. Shum has been honored with the female doctor of the year with the United Chinse Association.
