With over 35 years of experience, Jose Vincente Delgado is a Registered Oncology Nurse at Instituto de Radiotherapia Del Este. Inspired by his mother’s career, Delgado started off in the field as a scrub nurse then continued on to resuming the role as a circulating nurse. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Delgado takes pride in ensuring that his patients receive the quality care that they deserve and feels that it is an honor to be able to serve his patients. Delgado specializes in Radio Oncology as well as training and progressive knowledge in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics Surgery and Nursing Instruction. During the course of his educational career, Delgado graduated with his Nursing Degree in 1981 and later obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Puerto Rico in 1986. Delgado is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, a member of Varian Arias Program for patient’s record management and CPR certified. Aside from serving as the Operating Room Head Nurse within the Instituto de Radioterapia Del Este, Delgado is a Professional membership with the Puerto Rico College of Professional Nursing, the National Coalition of Nursing Navigators, and the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses. Delgado’s advice to incoming nurses is to always remember that, “Nursing is a science. Keep learning. You learn in the field. Stay on top of the developments in the profession.” When he is not working Jose enjoys reading and listening to music.
