Dr. Krishna R.S. Gujavarty is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Psychiatry as a Psychiatrist at a private practice.
Located at 49 Dolphin Drive, the private office of Dr. Gujavarty is situated along a canal near Great Neck Creek, offering individualized services for mental health and sleep disorders. He provides psychiatric evaluations, treating a variety of conditions such as bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and schizophrenia.
A Long Island resident for thirty-six years, Dr. Gujavarty is venerated by his peers and the local community. In addition to his role at his practice, he serves as an associate professor of clinical psychiatry at Stony Brook University and at the New York Osteopathic College of Medicine, chairman of psychiatry at Spartan University health Center in St. Lucia, member of the Senate at State University of New York, chairman of the Psychiatry Department at Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center, board member of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct and State Board of Medicine in New York, and associate psychiatrist-in-chief and clinical director of Nassau County Medical Center.
Since high school, Dr. Gujavarty wanted to become a doctor. Curious about science and motivated to help others, he sought out higher education, attending Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Karnataka, India, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). For post-education, he trained as an intern at Civil Hospital and a resident at Stony Brook.
A frontrunner in his field, Dr. Gujavarty serves as a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American College of International Physicians, a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, and the Associate of American Psychiatrists of India.
A noted humanitarian, Dr. Gujavarty’s philanthropic work includes a $100,000 endowment to Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center in West Islip to help improve the skill set of clinical providers and a $100,000 endowment to establish the “Dr. Gujavarty Family Seminar Fund in India Studies” in Stony Brook University’s Center for India Studies, which is a recurrent program that teaches values to undergraduate studies.
