David K. Bloomgarden, MD, FACE

David K. Bloomgarden, MD, FACE, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as an Endocrinologist at Scarsdale Medical Group.

Located on the third floor at 600 Mamaroneck Avenue, Dr. Bloomgarden’s office is a part of Scarsdale Medical Group, which has provided outstanding, personalized health care to Westchester County and New York’s Hudson Valley region since 1957. Dr. Bloomgarden specializes in the aggressive management of diabetes with patients using multiple dose injections, the Insulin Pump and some with Continuous Glucose Monitoring. He also specializes in the management of thyroid disease, osteoporosis, pituitary issues and fertility.

Leading an impressive career for over thirty-five years, Dr. Bloomgarden is well regarded in Westchester County. Devoted to excellent patient care, he enjoys educating patients and families in the skills necessary to properly manage diabetes.

In recognition of academic achievements, Dr. Bloomgarden earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, transitioning to the New York University School of Medicine for a Doctorate of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine, and went on to complete a Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center. He is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Metabolism.

To remain abreast of changes in his field, Dr. Bloomgarden maintains affiliations with the American College of Endocrinologist and serves as a fellow of ACE as well as a membership with the American Diabetes Association. He holds a hospital appointment with White Plains Hospital. As a philanthropist, Dr Bloomgarden has donated to and sought to further the growth and recognition of the Norman Fleischer Diabetes Institute at Albert Einstein/ Montefiore.

A published author, Dr. Bloomgarden has shared his expertise in peer-reviewed reports such as “Early Patient and Clinician Experiences with Continuous Glucose Monitoring”.

When not working, Dr. Bloomgarden enjoys such extra-curricular activities as carpentry, photography and spending time with his grandchildren as well as hikes and walks in the Berkshires.

Dr. Bloomgarden dedicates this recognition in loving memory to his father-in-law, Albert Willner, MD. He is grateful for his mentor, Dr. Norman Fleischer..
