Alicia Pino, DO, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as a Pediatrician at Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas.

Devoted to quality, compassionate healthcare, Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas offers pediatric services at their clinics in Arma, Baxter Springs, Coffeyville, Columbus, Fort Scott, Main Independence, Iola, Parsons, Pittsburg, Road Pleasanton, and Mound City. Since establishment, the center’s focus was guaranteeing children had a healthy start in school. Services include immunizations, sick visits, well-child checks, school and athletic physicals, hearing and vision screening, lead and hemoglobin testing, and referrals to specialists and community services. They accept Medicaid, KanCare, and all commercial insurances, offering financial assistance and never refusing care to people unable to pay.

Adept at children’s healthcare, Dr. Pino is one of the top pediatricians in Crawford County. During her residency with OSU Pediatrics, she served at Saint Francis Children’s Hospital’s OSU Medical Center and the OSU Medical Center. Over the course of her career, she attained experience researching and advocating for mothers. In 2011, she worked as a lab assistant where she studied and carried out ophthalmologic research methods to help develop vitreous substitutes, as well as synthesizing polymer vitreous substitutes. For four years, she worked for Legacy for Children. The CDC-funded program developed healthy parenting methods and a sense of community amongst mothers.

To prepare for her career, Dr. Pino earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in biology and chemistry from Greenville University and a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from A.T. Still University Kirkville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She earned the following certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Basic Disaster Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Remaining abreast of the latest developments, she maintains affiliations with the AAP, ACOP, and DO Care.

Outside of work, Dr. Pino is an active member of her community, donating to St. Jude’s and March of Dimes. She has volunteered her medical services in 2011 in Guatemala and in 2016 in the Philippines. She enjoys playing the guitar and keyboard, as well as exercising and going to church. She loves spending time with her family: husband Jonrey and parents Barbara and Wilson Loch.

Dr. Pino dedicates this recognition to her mentor Dr. Darrell Iler and OSU Pediatrics attending physicians and staff.
