Jerusa Altema, BA, BS

Jerusa Altema, B.A., B.S., is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Research as a Senior Clinical Research Manager at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Located in Manhattan, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has been providing sterling education since 1963. The School is renowned for its groundbreaking research such as classifying the first common gene variant linked to autism and rendering the first U.S. implantation of a new mechanism for aortic stenosis. Recently, researchers discovered a correlation between cigarette smoking and the risk for developing type 2 diabetes. As Sr. Clinical Research Manager, Ms. Altema implements over thirteen years of experience researching multiple oncology diseases and working in other areas such as biotech, healthcare, protocol development, operations management, and the study management of large international trials. She has served in her current capacity since March of 2018.

Highly trained and highly experienced, Ms. Altema is a selfmotivated expert who has extensive experience throughout multiple areas. Previously, she worked as clinical research management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for over nine years and global project manager for over three. A strong leader, she has managed multimillion dollar budgets, directed QA functions for clinical trials, and extensively used Microsoft Suites, Project, Access, SharePoint, and several Electronic Data Capture systems. In addition to these skills, she has proven herself as an adept mentor and critical thinker.

In recognition of academic achievements, Ms. Altema earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing from Hofstra University in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science in communicative disorders and deaf communications. In 2015, she attended Baruch College Continuing and Professional Studies for course work on planning and managing organizational change. She remains abreast of changes in her field as a member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and International Association of Women (IAW).

Outside of work, Ms. Altema has two children and a husband who works as a firefighter.
