William Schlesinger, DDS, MAGD, ABGD, AFAAID

William Schlesinger, DDS, MAGD, ABGD, AFAAID, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Dentistry as a Dentist at Dr. William Schlesinger.

Located in the upper Eastside of Manhattan, the dental office of Dr. William Schlesinger offers general and restorative dentistry, cosmetic procedures along with all phases of dental implant treatment. The practice opened in 1988 and strives to be on the cutting edge of modern dentistry by using the most advanced technology. Dr. Schlesinger and his staff are dedicated to rendering excellent dental care ensuring each patient is treated like family. Backed by over 30 years of professional excellence he is a preferred dentist by patients in Manhattan by virtue of his dedication to excellence.

Dr. Schlesinger advises new dentists to “to love your patients and love what you do” and “to stay current with the research and technology.” He warns that what they learned during school is not enough to carry them through their careers. The biggest lesson he has learned is “To always be and act professionally which will also train you to look at the big picture along with the important details you may need to focus on.” He is always trying to be fair, honest, and the best person he can be.

In preparation for his career Dr. Schlesinger first graduated from Brooklyn College in 1984. He chose to pursue dental schools because he aspired to make a difference in people’s lives, receiving his doctoral degree in 1988 from one of the country’s top rated dental schools, The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation Dr. Schlesinger spent two years at Long Island Jewish Hospital where he was a Resident and then Chief Resident in Dentistry.

Dr. Schlesinger’s opinion is highly regarded by dental professionals for what he has accomplished within the profession. In 2006, he became one of only about 2,200 members (about 2% of the dentists in the United States of America) who have received Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). In 2009, Dr. Schlesinger became a member of more selective group (about 700 dentists worldwide), the American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD) for which he even served as one of its Board of Directors for 3 years. In June of 2014, he completed the required education, training and examination to become an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).

Outside of Dr. Schlesinger’s professional responsibilities, he enjoys SCUBA diving, boating, traveling, cooking, attending shows, tennis and going to the beach. He tries to spend as much time as he can with his fiancée Lainie, family and especially his father Stanley.

As an active member of the community, Dr Schlesinger is on the Board of Directors of his co-op, donates his services to people who cannot afford dentistry and to organizations that help animals such as North Shore Animal League.

Dr. Schlesinger dedicates this recognition in loving memory of his mother Rita.
