Dr. Harvey Levy, DMD

Dr. Harvey Levy, D.M.D., is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Dentistry in recognition of his role as a Dentist at Dr. Harvey Levy & Associates, P.C.

Located in historic Frederick MD, Dr. Harvey Levy & Associates, P.C. is an award-winning highly reputable dental office with five dental associates, offering a vast array of procedures including nearly every aspect of dentistry. Unlike most offices, several members of the team at Dr. Harvey Levy & Associates have worked in their positions since inception in 1980. Having a family atmosphere has made it exceptionally easy for the office to build and maintain strong relationships with patients for generations, as they are truly dedicated to continuing education and excellent patient care. They treat patients in their modern private office as well as surgical centers, hospitals, homes, nursing homes, hospice centers, clinics, and institutions.

Dr. Levy has forty-five years of experience in dentistry, serving the last forty at his private practice in Maryland. He focuses on patients who have anxiety and special needs. Patients have praised Dr. Levy for being kind, compassionate, and gentle.

In recognition of academic achievements, Dr. Levy earned a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1974. Following this, he attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry where he completed a two year residency and post-doctoral masters’ courses in dentistry and research in non-verbal behavior. His post-doctoral education includes nine fellowships, five diplomate certificates, Mastership in the AGD, six AGD Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition awards and specialty in Integrative medicine. He is the recipient of the inaugural Maryland State Dental Association Humanitarian Award, the ADA Access to Care Award, the AGD Humanitarian Award, Tufts University Distinguished Alumni Award, Morgan State Univ Public Health Award, MD Governor Dr. of the Year Award, Special Care Dentistry’s Saul Kamen Award and Frederick Memorial Hospital’s Good Samaritan Award.

A noted humanitarian, he has provided free dental work in Maryland and on missionary trips in Guatemala to patients who are intellectually disabled, and medically compromised, and other special-needs patients.

A sought-after speaker, Dr. Levy has been invited to speak for the American Dental Association and many state and regional dental meetings approximately twenty-times annually about patients who have special needs. A published author, he has shared his knowledge in forty articles and five book chapters, plus videos, webinars, and podcasts. Most recently, he published a chapter in Cerebral Palsy, 2nd ed., titled “General Dentistry for Children with Cerebral Palsy”. He is a fellow of numerous organizations including the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, American College of Forensic Examiners Institute, and American Board for Certification in Homeland Security CHS-III. On top of these accomplishments, he has been the recipient of many awards and recognitions such as a Congressional Citation for National Children’s Dental Month in 2019 and Best of the Best General Dentist by Frederick News/Post Poll in 2018. On account of his success, he has had many media appearances on ADA News and MSDA Newsletter.

Dr. Levy dedicates this recognition to his parents, Lili and Leon Levy, who still encourage him to pursue education because they were denied an education while in Nazi concentration camps for over 3 years each during WWII.

Dr. Levy is currently on Dean’s faculty at University of MD Dental School. As a karate master holding 12 black belts, still training and teaching, he is a 3-time Martial Arts Black Belt Hall-of-Famer.
