Rufus W. Gore, MD, FAAOS, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Orthopedics as the Owner and Orthopedic Surgeon at Rancho Orthopedics.
Dr. Gore is one of the best orthopedists in his area. Board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, he has over 39 years of experience in his field. Prior to his current position, he held several faculty appointments such as Program Director and Director of Orthopedics Training at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Long Beach and Clinical Instructor of Surgery at Uniform Services School of Health Sciences/Herbert Medical School. He has also held several medical leadership positions, including Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff. He is reversed by his peers for his skills in joint replacement, trauma, and fracture surgery.
Beginning his education as a student at the University of Maryland, Dr. Gore graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He entered the medical field soon thereafter, earning his a Doctorate of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. For post-education, he completed an orthopedic surgical residency at the US Navy at Bethesda Naval Hospital.
Contributing toward his advancement in the orthopedic field and keeping him abreast of the ever-changing practices, Dr. Gore is professionally affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (Fellow), Riverside County Medical Association, American Medical Association, and the Society of Orthopedic Military Surgeons. He served 13 years in the US Navy and is a veteran of Desert Storm and a Commander, previously holding key positions such as Department Head of the U.S. Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy and Head of Orthopedic Surgery at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Long Beach, California.
Dr. Gore dedicates this recognition in loving memory of his father, Rufus W Gore Jr. (US Army - developed malaria vaccine). He would also like to recognize in loving memory of his mentors Robert Sullivan MD, and Joseph Godfrey, MD.
