Laura Anne Margaret Murphy, MD is recognized by Continental Who’s Who in the field of Medicine as a Pinnacle Cardiologist at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
Enthralled by human physiology, Dr. Murphy states, “I am fascinated by the physics of the heart pump.” For newcomers entering the field, Dr. Murphy advises, “Stay steadfast to your ultimate goals.” With 16 years of experience as a cardiologist, the key to her success is being “Extremely thorough in everything I do.”
Throughout her education and training, Dr. Murphy received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Ohio. Following that, Dr. Murphy completed her Internal Medicine Residency Program at Boston University Medical Center, her Fellowship in Cardiology and Fellowship in Electrophysiology at University of Maryland (2003), and her Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Proudly, Dr. Murphy is Board Certified in both Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology.
In her free time, Dr. Murphy enjoys biking, ballroom dancing (in Toledo), hiking trails, walking her two Labrador retrievers (one yellow/one black), and reading mystery novels. She is also big James Bond fan.
