Cecilia Marie Corrado, MD, NP-C Lt. Col. USAFR (ret.) is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Healthcare in recognition of her role as Owner and Provider of Mental Health Care at Osprey Behavioral Health.
A Retired Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Cecilia Marie Corrado has established herself as a trusted name in the healthcare profession. With over forty one years of experience in the field, Dr. Corrado is well-known for her Behavioral Health Cognitive Therapy techniques that work to improve memory and emotional stability. Dr. Corrado joined the Air Force and taught para-rescue during her career. She has also gained extensive experience in the areas of Behavioral Health consulting specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury and Polytrauma Care for wounded veterans.
Dr. Corrado became inspired when she encountered a 23 year old bicycle rider who suffered a traumatic brain injury. When asked her advice to newcomers in the industry, Dr. Corrado emphasizes that you have to be passionate and “it has to be your calling. You have got to love it because you don’t get rich practicing it and you have to love reading about science and staying current with the professional literature.” Attributing her success to liking what she does, Dr. Corrado states that her, “dog, Amelia and horse, Chip help enormously in my life and practice.”
To further advance her professional career, Dr. Corrado is an affiliate of several organizations including the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, the Washington Center in Washington DC and actively engaged in the Defense and Veteran Brain Injury Center. Additionally, Dr. Corrado is an esteemed member of the One Mind for Research and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine during her Active Duty Service.
Certified in Psychiatric Nursing, throughout her educational career, Dr. Corrado completed her Undergraduate Degree at the University of Delaware and went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing from Widener University. While studying Critical Care at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Dr. Corrado attained her Medical Doctor degree from John Hopkins.
When she is not working, Dr. Corrado enjoys piloting planes in her spare time.
