Victoria Lee Church, RN, MS, CNS-BC is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Nursing. Church is currently working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at the VA Portland Healthcare System. Church has always wanted to make a difference, and was inspired to become an EMT when she was 15 years old. With over 15 years in this position, and over 35 years in the healthcare field, her areas of professional expertise are informatics, cardiology, neurology, progressive care, and acute care. She has also won a plethora of awards for outstanding work throughout her career. Since 1990 alone, Church has won 15 awards and honors, including; Special Contribution Award from the National Medication Reconciliation Office, an Award of Excellence from the VHA Five Million Lives Conference for Medication Reconciliation, an Award for Excellence in Mentorship, and the National VA Nursing Innovation Award for Improving Outcomes with Cardiac Telemetry. To further her professional development, Church maintains affiliation with many prestigious organizations. She is a member of the American Association for Critical Care Nurses, and the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists and Oregon Clinical Nurse Specialists. She is also affiliated with the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Society, and involved with Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church and Women’s Ministry & Eucharistic Minister. She has also served as a CPR instructor, AED instructor, and ACLS Instructor for the American Heart Association. Church earned both her MS and BSN from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing. Additionally, she is Board Certified as a Core Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Church’s advice to others in her field would be that the key to success always striving to learn. When not working, she enjoys travelling, gardening, reading (specifically Diana Gabaldon, who is her favorite writer), and spending time with her children and dog.
