Verna Jones

Verna Jones is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Nursing. Jones is practicing as an RN at Refugio County Memorial Hospital in Refugio, Texas, where she is a supervising nurse. A seasoned nurse with over five decades of experience, Jones has been in her current position for 54 years and her professional expertise includes emergency care, surgery and trauma nursing, and management. Jones worked as a nursing supervisor and manager, emergency room and trauma coordinator. Additionally, she has held roles gathering and reviewing data for the trauma registry of the Texas Department of EMS/ Trauma, an educational director, and a scrub nurse for minor and major surgical procedures. She holds certifications in Trauma Nursing (TNCC), Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS), and is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. In order to further her professional development, Jones maintains memberships with such associations as; the American Nurses Association, the Emergency Nurses Association, the American Trauma Society, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She also participates with the Mercy Run through AORN, or, the Association of Preoperative Registered Nurses. Jones graduated from Ball State College in 2007 with a Master of Nursing degree. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Texas (Medical Branch) in 1999, and obtained an ASN from Victoria College, located in Victoria, Texas, in 1989. Additionally, she earned her LVN through the Refugio Memorial Diploma Program. Jones is seen as a dedicated nurse who is a continuous learner in her field and maintains a strong work ethic for many to admire. When she’s not working, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She would like to dedicate this recognition to her children, Phyllis Rydolph, Tanya Carrejo, Priscilla Green and Toya Jones. V.
