Jonathan J. Shepherd is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the field of Psychiatry at Hope Health Systems, Inc. A Psychiatric counseling center, Hope Health seeks out the well being of their patients by providing care geared towards, “at risk”, children, adolescents, adults, and families. The counseling center provides service and programs that include Outpatient Mental Health Care, Expanded School-based Mental Health, Department of Juvenile Services, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program, Health Homes, Case Management, Substance Abuse, and Mobile Treatment Services. As Chief Medical Director at Hope Health Systems, Inc. and an expert in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Jonathan J. Shepherd has had well over 12 years of experience in the field. During his first two years of medical school, Dr. Shepherd was inspired to go into psychiatry while analyzing research and counseling. He is passionate and loves helping children. When asked about his advice to on comers within the field, Dr. Shepherd believes that it is vital to, “Be passionate.” Renowned for his caring and compassionate approach with his patients, Dr. Shepherd has offered treatment and served his clients in a wide array of areas that have included Attention Deficit Disorder, ObsessiveCompulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression and psychotic disorders. Throughout his educational career, Dr. Shepherd earned his MD and completed his Residency through the University of IllinoisChicago College of Medicine. Later, Shepherd went onto completing his residency in Psychiatry through John Hopkins University’s Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Amongst his achievements, Dr. Shepherd earned the coveted title of Diplomate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Diplomate in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to his clinical work Dr. Shepherd is an active member within his church and has participated in several volunteer mission trips. Jonathan J. Shepherd dedicates this recognition to; his parents, Josephus Shepherd and Hazel Shepherd, to whom he says, “Thank you for your continuing love and support,”; and in loving memory of his maternal grandmother, Lubirdia Glass who suffered from Alzheimer’s.
