Krystal Shelmire, ND, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in recognition of her work in the field of Healthcare as Naturopathic Physician at Alternative Natural Health Solutions, LLC. A consulting and alternative medical facility, Alternative Natural Health Solutions, LLC specializes in various treatments to help promote the health and wellness of their patients. Dr. Shelmire serves as a Naturopathic Physician at her own practice, Alternative Natural Health Solutions, LLC. She utilizes expertise within multiple facets of naturopathic medicine, including pediatrics, ADHD treatment and female hormone research. She is also of just five Naturopathic Physicians in Louisiana. In her work, Dr. Shelmire follows the Six Principles of Naturopathic Medicine: 1) First Do No Harm; 2) Treat the Whole Person; 3) Identify and Treat the Causes; 4) The Healing Power of Nature; 5) Doctor as Teacher; and 6) Promoting Wellness. She utilizes several modalities including botanicals, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, nutrition and supplements, lifestyle and psychological counseling, physical manipulation skills, minor surgery, and modern diagnostic and laboratory testing and infrared sauna therapy. Prior to beginning her work at Natural Health Solutions, Dr. Shelmire held positions at the City/Parish of Baton Rouge, Transgenerex, Inc., and FEMA. Throughout the course of her education and training, Dr. Shelmire earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Naturopathy from the National University of Health Sciences. She is certified by the City of Baton Rouge in Levels One and Two Wastewater Treatments as well as Wastewater Collections. Additionally, Dr. Shelmire is fluent in French as well as English. To further her professional development, Dr. Shelmire is a member of Business Networking International, AANP and the Louisiana Association of Naturopathic Physicians. When not working, she volunteers her time to the March of Dimes as well as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and enjoys spending time with family. In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments in the field, Dr. Shelmire was awarded the TOPS Scholarship by the State of Louisiana, the Board of Supervisors Scholarship and was named to the National Dean’s List by Louisiana State University. She has been featured on the podcast series Black People Speak, The Dr. Krystal Shelmire Episode. Dr. Shelmire has also been featured on KLFY News discussing Life hacks to help with migraines and headaches, and is the Naturopathic writer for BlackDoctor.org. In the future, she hopes to expand her practice to the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas.
