Peggy Lynn Jones is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Healthcare Education in recognition of her role as a Health Consultant at Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN). A not-for-profit 501(c) 3 corporation, Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) was established in 2003. Dedicated to offering quality health services utilizing the latest advancements in medical technology, the network was formulated, “for the purposes of sharing resources, education, promoting efficiency and best practice and improving health care services for member critical access hospitals and their rural communities.” An independent network, ICAHN specializes in CIO services, employee survey solutions, hospital insurance programs and more. Amassing over thirty years of experience in the Healthcare field, Jones is a prominent expert within her industry. Health Consultant at Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN), Jones specializes in healthcare education. In her current capacity, Jones has spent eight years as a health consultant. Throughout her career, Jones has attained expertise within the areas of Stroke, STEMI and EMS certification and education. Prior to joining the team at ICAHN, Jones was previously employed for 9 years by American Heart Association. She gained hands-on experience as the former Director of State Health Alliances. A leader in statewide coordination of the stroke and EMS program for immediate response and medical attention as a private consultant in healthcare, and liaison to the state for stroke, STEMI and EMS emergency preparedness, Jones insures the capabilities of 53 facilities to treat instances of stroke. Most recently she began implementing her stroke education program with the state of Arkansas and has had requests for additional partnerships in other states as well. Throughout the course of her education and training, Jones began her nurses training at Bloomington School of Practical Nursing and then went on to attend Illinois State University for 3 years where she completed courses in both nursing and social work. In recognition of her professional accolades, Jones was the recipient of the McLean County Corn Belt Health Educators Association – 2007 Health Educator of the Year; American Heart Association – 2003 Health Advocate of the Year; 2007 Greater Midwest Affiliate Health Strategies Achievement Award and Integration Award; and the 2012 ICAHN President’s Award. In addition, her work in stroke in the rural areas was recognized in an oral presentation at the International Stroke Conference in 2013. Charitable to various organizations, Jones volunteers her time as the Chair of the Trust Fund of the Jessamine Withers Home Trust, as an ordained Elder and Deacon of the Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington and serves on the Session Board and as Moderator of the Deacons. When she is not working, Jones enjoys working with the poor and the elderly and vacationing at Marco Island. In looking to the future, Jones hopes to continue to serve on State Stroke Advisory Board and work in the rural communities on stroke quality improvement as well collaborating with state STEMI Leaders.
