Lieutenant Colonel Tina Powell,NP

Lieutenant Colonel Tina Powell, NP, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Healthcare as a result of her role  as a Family Nurse Practitioner with the US Army  National Guard. Founded in 1636 as a citizen force organized to protect families and towns from hostile attacks, The National Guard is a unique and essential element of the U.S. military. With a career in the National Guard for nearly twenty years,  Tina is a Family Nurse Practitioner who works closely with  master resilience training, sexual assault response, and overall healthcare services for soldiers.  In her current capacity, Tina provides physical exams,  periodic health assessments, and has expertise working with both case and healthcare management.

A board  certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Tina enjoys continuing education and expanding her knowledge in healthcare. When reflecting on her career accomplishments, Tina states there is a “real sense of satisfaction in helping  people with their healthcare needs.”  In addition to her education as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Tina has undergone extensive training in the areas of  Post-Traumatic Stress assessment and treatment, Nutrition, Case Management and Sexual Assault Nurse Examining. She earned a certificate in Psychological Trauma: Effective Treatment and Practice and Natural Science Illustration from the University of Washington.

Tina received her Health Coach certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and holds an ANCC certification, Utah APRN licensure, Controlled Substance license, DEA  license, CCMC Case Manager certification, ANCC Nurse Case Management certification, and is also a certified  Occupational Hearing Conservationist.  Furthermore, she is a member of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), National Association of  Orthopaedic Nurses, and the Continental Who’s Who Registry of National Business Leaders. Tina is passionate about  organizations to help the homeless, the Coalition to End Childhood Hunger and local Children’s hospitals.  

 

A testament to her successes, she was recognized by NAPW with the honor of 2014 VIP Woman of The Year. In her spare time, Tina enjoys art, gardening, spending time with her family, and reading. She loves learning new things, movies, and going on long, relaxing walks.  Throughout the course of her studies, Tina received her MSN and FNP from the Lienhard School of Nursing at Pace University. She earned her BSN and RN from the Lienhard School of Nursing at Pace University as well. Additionally, Tina holds a BA in Spanish from Brigham Young University. Looking into the future, Tina would like to continue her  education and study towards her DNP degree.
