Mr. Jacobs has over 65 years of experience overseeing all operations of his company. He possesses expertise in financial management, marketing, and communication, frequently interacting with accounting and legal experts to develop new and different button style products. Mr. Jacobs personally interacts with customers and values each provider-client relationship that he has. To keep up with changing product lines, Mr. Jacobs attends trade shows and applies his newfound knowledge to his business endeavors.
With humble beginnings in 1928 as a family-owned, New York button manufacturing company, Emsing Manufacturing Corporation, throughout the years has remained a producer of the highest-quality buttons in the industry; today functioning as the World’s Largest producer of Industrial Strength/Fire Retardant Melamine buttons. In addition to the original New York location, Mr. Jacobs has developed additional locations in Connecticut, Hong Kong, Shanghai, China, New Delhi, India, Santiago and San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic and Central America. All locations produce all natural buttons, bio-tech, fire retardant melamine, genuine leather buttons, green line, handmade buttons, logo mania, metal and plated, military, novelty, shirt buttons, super durable, swimwear collection, tailored clothing buttons and trouser buttons. Today, Emsig is managed by third and fourth generation family members, and through all its years of innovation and expansion, Emsig has maintained its initial family friendliness, trust, and market integrity.
Mr. Jacobs earned an associate’s degree at the University of Bridgeport. He is the Founder and Former First President of the American Manufacturing Button Association and a member of the American Apparel Association, American Arbitration Association, and the Antique Ford Car Club.
Recognized for his commitment to his community, Mr. Jacobs was awarded the Pollution Prevention Award from the New York State Governor in 1996.
In his free time, Mr. Jacobs enjoys gardening and Old Antique Cars; he is the proud owner of a 1928 Phaeton four door Ford Convertible.
Mr. Jacobs dedicates this recognition in loving memory of his wife, Pearl Jacobs. He would also like to recognize his daughters, Donna Jacobs, Dr. Carrie Jacobs, and Robin Jacobs.
