Mark S. Biggs

Mark S. Biggs is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Mining as a result of his role as a Principal Geologist with ROM Resources Pty. Ltd. With over 32 years of professional experience, Mark specializes in Industrial Mineral and Coal Exploration and Mine Evaluation throughout Australia. He is a Competent Person as defined by the 20102 JORC Code (for the  reporting of Australian Mineral Resources and Reserves) and has extensive experience in open cut and underground geophysical techniques, coal quality, geotechnical and structural modelling, scheduling for coal, and managing teams of geologists and other mining professionals.

Mark has spent over 22 years working at coal mine sites, where apart from his geological roles, he headed a team of people involved  in short to medium term scheduling of overburden, coal uncovery and coal quality predictions.  Throughout his impressive educational career, Mark earned a Master's Degree in Geology and Earth Science as well as a Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Science, both from Queensland University of Technology. He is presently a member of the Geological Society of Australia; Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy; and The Bowen Basin Coal Geologist Group. From 2008 he has also lectured in coal geology and exploration, in an honory capacity, at the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Central Queensland.
