Dr. Sylvain Chemtob, MD PhD, FRCPC, FCAHS

Dr. Sylvain Chemtob, M.D., Ph.D., F.R.C.P.C., F.C.A.H.S. is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Medicine. Dr. Chemtob is Professor of Medicine at the University of Montreal. In his current role, Dr. Chemtob specializes in Medical Research in the areas of Neurosciences; Biomedical Engineering; Stem Cells; Pediatrics; Neonatology; as well as Drug Development.

As a result of his excellence in the Medical Profession,  Dr. Chemtob has been honored with the Andre Deport Award for Excellence and was also awarded the Aventis Pasteur Research Award (Top Canadian Pediatric Health Researcher) by the Canadian Pediatric Society, and most recently received the Award of Excellence for Pediatric Research Career (Quebec, 2012). In addition, he was named to the Canadian Association of Health Sciences and earned the Clement McCulloch Lecturer Award from the Eye Research Institute in Toronto. Dr. Chemtob is a member of The Society for Pediatric Research; Canadian Society for Pharmacology and Therapeutics; Association for Research, Vision, and Ophthalmology; and the International Society for Eye Research. He earned his M.D. from the University of Montreal, and also holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from McGill University. Furthermore, Dr. Chemtob holds a Post-Doctorate Degree in Cardiovascular Research and Physiology from the University of Iowa.
