Bill Delay is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Specialty Dog Training as a result of his role as a Trainer and Owner of Rocky Mountain Canine Academy. With 32 years in Law Enforcement and 29 years training and handling Police Dogs, Bill decided to start a business that would take him into retirement and allow him to showcase his vast experience. Rocky Mountain Canine Academy has afforded Bill the opportunity to offer his services training police dogs and providing green dogs for the law enforcement and military community. Bill is extremely experienced in handling and training police dogs for the challenges that law enforcement canine officers face every day. A testament to his skill and dedication, Bill has handled three bomb dogs since 2001. During this time, Bill has worked bomb dogs in post active shooting/post blast situations. These are difficult environments to work a Detection Dog in and the training Bill provides for the police dogs and their handlers is based on firsthand experience in Law Enforcement. In addition, Bill’s experience also allows him to offer quality canine training including decoy training, tracking, obedience, patrol and tactical training, drug detection and explosive detection training. He has prepared canine teams for certification through the National Police Canine Association and the United States Police Canine Association. Furthermore, Bill extends his training capabilities to dogs that are not purchased from Rocky Mountain Canine. For clients wishing to select their own dog, Bill tests the dog before the training begins. He strongly stands behind the dogs he offers and the training services he provides. As a result of his dedication and customer service within the industry, Bill also makes himself available for refresher training after initial training is completed. Throughout his educational career, Bill earned an AS Degree in Law Enforcement from Mesa State University and maintains certification through the National Police Canine Association. He presently serves on the Executive Board of the National Police K-9 Association as well as the Standards Committee of the Colorado Police K-9 Association.
