Anita L. Merrill, BS/ MT(ASCP) CLS is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Professional of the Year as a result of 40 Years of Excellence in the field of Medical Technology. Currently, Anita is Chief Medical Technologist with the University Of Georgia Veterinary Diagnostic and Investigational Laboratory.
Anita is a Registered Medical Technologist and has vast experience in Management. In addition, she worked to develop the Clinical Pathology Department in the Tifton Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory which is a composite of departments Including Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Endocrinology, as well as Parasitology and Cytology Studies. Additionally, Anita is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the National Certification Association and the American Association of Clinical Chemistry with AACC Veterinary Section (DACC).
She is a former member of the American Chemical Society where she served in several leadership positions. During this time she coordinated National Chemistry Week hands on demos for Grammar School students and High School chemistry student tours of Merck Pharmacology QC labs and Busch QC laboratories. Anita was an active member of the Tifton Sigma XI Club for 20 years and during that time was awarded the Outstanding Service to Research award in 1997. She received the Staff Appreciation Award for the University Of Georgia School Of Veterinary Medicine for her many contributions to her work in May of 2007. During her years at Tifton Veterinary Diagnostic and Investigational Laboratory she has participated in many wildlife research projects and was a contributing Editor in these studies. She earned her B. S. in Chemistry and Biology from Berry College.
