With over a decade’s worth of experience in the legal industry, Mr. Usman A. Mughal is revered for his remarkable contributions to the field of Law. Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Mughal has attained extensive expertise in the areas of Patent prosecution of electrical, computer, and software related inventions. Mr. Mughal started practicing patent law after working at Intel Corp. in Hillsboro Oregon as a Design Engineer for nearly nine years in microprocessor design. Before joining Intel, he interned at Cadence Design System and Nortel Networks in Cary and Research Triangle Park in North Carolina.
While pursuing his educational endeavors, Mr. Mughal earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering in 1997 and his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1999 from North Carolina State University. In 2005, Mr. Mughal would go on to attend Lewis & Clark Law School where he obtained his Juris Doctor Degree and graduated Cum Laude in 2009.
In an effort to further enhance his professional development, Mr. Mughal is a distinguished fellow of several elite organizations including the Patent Bar Association and Oregon Bar Association. Mr. Mughal co-founded a safety-net non-profit clinic in SW Portland called South West Community Health Center, which provides health care services to uninsured and underinsured clients. In his previous capacity, Mr. Mughal has served as the President for the Oregon Patent Law Association (OPLA) and chaired a 3-day CLE conference at Salishan Resort in Oregon.
